OpenAI makes ChatGPT for Mac available to all users

After announcing the ChatGPT app for Mac in May 2024, OpenAI has made the app available to all Mac users using Apple Silicon. The app integrates ChatGPT into MacOS with the readily accessible command shortcut Option + Space. The app will also allow users to take and ask questions related to screenshots and file uploads and analyze selected text on the screen.

OpenAI delays launch of voice assistants

OpenAI has delayed the launch of its voice assistant by a month. The company said it needs more time to improve safety of AI systems and scale the infrastructure to serve millions of customers in real-time. Announced in May, OpenAI’s voice assistant allows users to interact with ChatGPT in real-time voice interactions.

OpenAI acquires Multi, an enterprise video collaboration platform

Just weeks after acquiring Rockset, OpenAI acquired another enterprise startup called Multi. Multi-app allows remote software teams to collaborate better with multiplayer features and deep integration in the development workflow.

Meta makes Meta AI available to all users in India

After months of testing, Meta is making Meta AI available to it’s 500 million users in India. Meta AI is powered by Llama 3 and is only available in English in India. Meta AI offers deep integration with Meta’s apps, which allows users to generate images and chat with Llama 3.

Google integrates Gemini AI with Gmail

Google has added a new side panel to Gmail, which allows users to use Gemini AI inside Gmail. Gemini AI will assist users in generating new emails and summarizing email threads. Google also brings the side panel to apps like Sheets, Notes, Slides, and Drive. These features are only available to Google Workspace customers with a Gemini Business or Enterprise add-on, a Gemini Education or Education Premium add-on, or a Google One AI Premium subscription.
